The Cons of Protective Transport Wrap
Protective transport wrap, or paint protective film or polymask protective film, protects a car's exterior and interior during transport to the dealership. The purpose is to temporarily shield the new surface from moisture, scratches, and contamination.

Of course, polymask protective film isn't supposed to stay on your vehicle forever. It only lasts up to seven years. The wrap can start peeling and fading after only a year.

Paint protective film will never look as clear or texture-free as exterior paint. The film can't wrap around every crevice of the paint, so some of the edges will show, and when you wash it, it can lift.

Dust and dirt accumulate quickly on protective transport wrap, and it's difficult to remove. Additionally, the wrap can get scratches, stains, scuffs, and abrasions that will stay on it permanently. Furthermore, car wash soaps can cause streaks and spots.
